Troubleshooting
Device isn't showing up
Quick check: open Windows Media Player Legacy. If WMP Legacy can't see your device either, the issue is between the device and your network, not the app. If WMP sees it but GogglePlayer doesn't, jump to Add device by IP at the bottom of this list.
- Device and PC on the same Wi-Fi network (not a guest network).
- Windows network profile set to Private.
- DLNA or wireless streaming enabled on the device.
- On DJI Goggles 3, the Wireless Streaming menu was added in firmware v01.00.0200 (May 2024). Update to the latest firmware if you don't see the menu.
- Windows Firewall allows GogglePlayer on Private networks.
- Disable VPNs that route LAN traffic.
- Router AP isolation (sometimes called client isolation) blocks devices on the same Wi-Fi from seeing each other. Guest networks usually have it on by default; some routers also enable it on the main network. Both devices look online, but discovery fails. Check your router's Wi-Fi settings.
- Restart the device.
- If discovery still fails, open the device list in the app and choose Add device by IP. Type your renderer's address (and port if you know it). Useful when your router blocks parts of UPnP/SSDP discovery entirely.
For a first-time setup, How to Watch Movies on DJI Goggles covers the goggles side, Wireless Streaming menu included.
Playback stutters or buffers
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet.
- Lower the max transcode height in Settings → Transcoding. 720p is roughly 4 Mbps.
- Close other apps on the same network with heavy traffic.
Playback fails
The error banner names the cause and suggests a fix where there is one. Click Retry to pick up from where it stopped. If the same file keeps failing, restart the device.
Audio out of sync
Applies when audio is routed to the Local output (audio on your PC). It syncs automatically and holds. A constant offset through the whole film is your headset's own delay: calibrate it once with the A/V OFFSET control on the Local card, and it is saved. A slip after a network stall: press R, or Resync on the amber banner. A format that has to be fully converted, such as HEVC, plays live first and switches to automatic sync once the background conversion finishes. Which button fixes which symptom is in Video on DJI Goggles, Audio in Your Headphones. If you do not need the sound on the PC, the Stream output plays it on the goggles and there is nothing to keep in sync.
App won't start
- Verify Windows 10 (version 2004 or newer) or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Check Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Application for "GogglePlayer" or ".NET Runtime" entries; include in a bug report.
- Reinstall from the Microsoft Store.
