Features

Sources

What you can play.

Local files
Open files from your computer.
Video URLs
Paste a URL. Requires yt-dlp to be installed separately. What plays and what does not.
Capture devices
Webcams, OBS Virtual Camera, and USB HDMI capture cards.
Desktop capture
Stream a monitor to the goggles with your computer's sound, or keep the sound on local headphones behind a delay so it matches the picture. Cursor optional, quality and frame rate adjustable. The picture runs a few seconds behind.
File formats
Containers: MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, WebM, M4V, TS, M2TS. Video codecs: H.264, HEVC, AV1, VC-1, MPEG-2, and more. Audio codecs: AAC, AC3, DTS, Opus, MP3, FLAC, and more.

Output

How it reaches the device.

DLNA discovery
Finds renderers on your local network.
Codec handling
H.264 + AAC in MP4 plays as-is. The same codecs in MKV or AVI are repackaged to MP4 with no re-encode, so they keep full quality and seek like MP4. Everything else converts to H.264 automatically.
Hardware encoding
Intel Quick Sync, NVIDIA NVENC, or AMD AMF. OpenH264 fallback when none is available.
Max resolution
Default 1080p (Goggles native). Configurable.
Seeking
Files that play directly, repackaged, or converted scrub instantly. A live transcoded stream seeks by restarting at the new position.

Audio

Routing and sync.

Split audio
Video to the renderer, audio to a local speaker or Bluetooth headphone. How to set it up.
Automatic sync
On the Local output, the audio on your PC locks to the video on the goggles on its own and holds, so it doesn't drift over a long movie. How it works.
Convert for sync
A format that has to be fully converted, such as HEVC, plays live right away and converts to a regular file in the background, so automatic sync and instant seeking switch on. Keep live stays on the live stream if you prefer.
Manual fine adjustment
The A/V OFFSET control nudges audio in 10/50/500 ms steps to calibrate your headset's fixed delay once. A green Auto-sync indicator shows while the app is holding sync on its own.
Multi-track selection
Pick the audio track on multi-track files.
Drift detection
If a network hiccup causes drift, an amber banner offers one-click resync.

Subtitles

Sidecar and embedded.

Supported formats
SRT, ASS, SSA sidecars and embedded text tracks from MKV.
Language detection
Filename suffixes like .en.srt or .eng.srt are mapped to language tags.
Burn-in
Subtitles are burned into the video.
Time offset
Per-file offset for out-of-sync SRTs.

Interface

Darkens the screen. Can also turn off the display when the Stream output is selected. Optional in Settings.
Resume positions
Files resume where you left off.
Queue persistence
The queue survives restarts.
